Incident Command Training
K Lamb Associates has a long-standing relationship with the City of Burlington Fire Department who were the first North American Fire Department to run the SFJ Awards Level 5 Incident Command Trainer course in 2019. They have also been using the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs endorsed Effective Command training tool kit for the last 5 years, to deliver incident Command training to all their officers, from Captain to Fire Chief.
Last month they completed another North American first – they invited a scenario delivery and assessment team from K Lamb Associates into the department, to deliver training and provide feedback on the performance of their Platoon and Deputy Chiefs. This involved the development of bespoke and localised scenarios based on risks within the Burlington area and the use of sector competent and qualified assessors to give feedback on their performance.

The training concluded with their Chief Training Officer booking another course for 2024 focusing on the development of their Acting Platoon Chiefs.
