Incident Command Training in Edmonton

In May, the Effective Command Canada team was invited to Edmonton Fire Department by interim Fire Chief David Lazenby to deliver high level incident command training to all 10 of its principal officers. This included a full incident command training day, exploring situational awareness, decision making, communication, command and incident review behaviours, whilst completing several scenarios as a group. This training was followed by dedicated scenario sessions, utilizing localized incidents based on real risks within Edmonton. Each officer took command of the incident as it progressed to a 3rd alarm Fire call. This was the first delivery of the Effective Command program in Alberta and received outstanding feedback across the board.
